ToySwap Community Rules
ToySwap works because it's parents trading with parents, in the same neighbourhoods, in good faith. These rules keep it that way. By using ToySwap you agree to follow them.
1. Parents run the show
- Every account belongs to a parent or legal guardian. Kids participate only through a kid profile inside their parent's account.
- Parents must review and approve every trade, and a parent must accompany their child to every exchange.
2. What you can list
- Toys and games in the condition you say they're in — be honest about wear, missing pieces, and whether it works.
- Not allowed: anything unsafe or recalled, broken items presented as working, weapons or weapon-like items, items with batteries that leak or overheat, stuffed items in unsanitary condition, anything that isn't a toy or game, and anything illegal to sell or give away.
- Photos must show only the toy. Never include people — especially children — in listing photos.
3. How to behave
- Be kind and patient — you're dealing with other families, and kids are watching how this works.
- Messages must stay respectful and on-topic (arranging the swap). No harassment, profanity, hate speech, or spam.
- Never ask another family for personal information — addresses, phone numbers, kids' details, or anything beyond what's needed to meet at a public spot.
- Never attempt to contact a child directly, in-app or otherwise. All communication is parent-to-parent.
4. Safe exchanges
- Meet only at the public meetup spots suggested in the app (libraries, community centres, police station exchange zones, busy parks).
- A parent from each family attends the exchange — kids never meet alone.
- Keep all arrangements inside the app. If someone tries to move the conversation elsewhere or change the location last-minute to somewhere private, cancel and report it.
- ToySwap does not verify identities. Use the same judgment you would with any stranger, and trust your instincts — you can cancel any trade at any time, no explanation needed.
5. Honest trading
- Bring the toys you agreed to, in the condition shown.
- Points are a thank-you for completed swaps — never mark a trade complete that didn't happen, and don't create fake trades to farm points.
6. Reporting and consequences
- Use the Report button on any listing, message, or trade that breaks these rules — reports are confidential.
- Use Block to stop all contact with a family; blocking cancels any open trades between you.
- We may remove listings, cancel trades, or permanently remove accounts that break these rules — without warning for anything involving child safety.
